Important reminder

You MUST add your name to the race matrix. If you have not submitted your race entry to the race matrix prior to race day then it will not count towards the League.

Club League

CPT in action

This year's Club League has again been divided into six leagues: male and female; Open (under 40); Vet (40-49) and Super-vet (50+). Age as at 31 December.

Points will be awarded based on your finishing time relative to the winning male/female time (overall in race, not just CPT finishers). You must complete a minimum of three races to qualify for a League position and your best three scores will be added together with the lowest score overall being the winner. See the full rules below.

In addition to the races below, other multisport events (triathlon, duathlon and aquathlon - ie not single sport races such as London Marathon, sportives etc) will be included as a qualifying race if a minimum of five adult CPT members are on the start line (don't have to finish) or in the case of half distance or ironman-distance events then four CPT members must be on the start line.

Please note: You MUST add your name to the race matrix. If you have not submitted your race entry to the race matrix prior to race day then it will not count towards the League. See the full rules below.

Please also remember to enter races as Crystal Palace Triathletes and wear your Club kit with pride!

All fully paid up adult CPT members will have their names added to their appropriate league dependent upon age and gender (unless racing for another Club). Get entering those races (remember you need a minimum of three races to qualify), some are filling up very fast!

Rules

  • A minimum of three qualifying races to qualify for the Club League.
  • There must be 5/more CPT members racing for all sprint/olympic distance races and 4+ CPT members racing for all middle/long distance races
  • You must race for Crystal Palace (or your country for age group races) - racing for another club doesn't qualify you for Club League points
  • You MUST add your name to the race matrix. If you have not submitted your race entry to the race matrix prior to race day then it will not count towards the League.
  • Only multi-discipline races count - two or more of swim/bike/run in any combination.  Run races or cycle sportives etc don't count
  • Only one race in a series can qualify  (ie if you do all three Hillingdon triathlons, Thames Turbo triathlons, Tooting Bec aquathlons etc. only your best score will count)
  • If at the end of the year two people tie with points over their best three races the 4th best score (and onwards if necessary) will be used to determine the winner
  • All Club Champs races and all London League races (above) automatically qualify for the Club League without the requirement for minimum number of racers entering. Please note that the Club League is seperate to the London League but the Committee wish to encourage participation in the London League too.
  • Where an event is run over more than one day or in multiple waves, your participation will only count if the course route and distance is unchanged over the two days/waves and the winning time will be taken as the fastest over the course at the end of the event (not necessarily just your wave/day) - eg London Triathlon
  • The fastest time for your age/gender category will be taken as the fastest amateur time - ie if a known pro triathlete is racing then you won't have your time compared against theirs (generally because this tends to unfairly skew the scores for those racing at Ironman distance)

To avoid any further confusion, the 'senior' categories represent all those aged 17-39 at 31 Dec 2016 - therefore should someone age under 17 or 40+ be the fastest on the day, someone in this category will still only have their time compared to the fastest in the 17-39 age group. Therefore everyone competes within their own age/gender category.
