2018 London League races

2018 News - June

Chairman's Roundup

The big race of the weekend was the Windrush Aquathlon - round 7 of the Triathlon London senior league hosted by our neighbours Windrush Triathlon Club - Lots of you down as racing.

Richard Lewey and I got a recce lap in of the Southern XC MTB in Pippingford before both puncturing out, but the main purpose was to recce the course for the offroad tri there in September. It's a fantastic venue and course, and I'd recommend to any triathletes who have access to a mountain bike to consider out.

Chairman's Roundup

Well done to all those who competed in the club's Triathlon Standard Distance and Aquabike champs today at the Bridge Triathlon, and congrats to Matt Lawes and Cat Tuplin for taking the top honours in the standard, with Euan Davies, Kevin Freeman and Alison Purnell rounding off the CPT podium, and to Dan Duran and Cathy Cooke for taking the Aquabike title, with Emma Snowdon 2nd female.

All will be awarded trophies at our annual awards in December. Liz Kew raced the Sprint Aquabike, and unfortunately I can't congratulate Zac Purnell for winning the Bridge Sprint Distance today, because he didn't put his name on the race matrix (sorry Zac).

Over in Windsor, Mitch Cooke competed in the Windsor Triathlon, and on the Saturday I gave Triathlon X a crack (a fantastically well organised and wonderfully low-key iron distance adventure race that I thoroughly recommend), whilst Chris Hall completed "The Wall" - a 70-mile trail ultra marathon!

Chairman's Roundup

You know we're right into summer when the mid-week lake races are on - well done to Emma Snowdon and Liz Kew competing at the Ocean Lake Aquathlon on Wednesday. Rich Lewey is at the Beastway MTB race most Wednesdays. Zac Purnell represented at the Leeds super sprint on Saturday, with crews at the local classics Mid Sussex and White Oak on Sunday.

Please continue to add your names to the matrix, emailing Chih and Chris if your race isn't on there. Big weekend next weekend with the club champs olympic, so good luck to all of you competing there.
