Weekend results - 24-25 September

Ron did the 1 mile Serpentine Swim on 24 September, while Matthew travelled to Oklahoma for the ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships.

Alex and Matt with the IM Mallorca medalsMatt and Alex kept their entries to Ironman Mallorca a secret. From Matt's report on Facebook (worth a read if you are friends with him), it sounds as though he had an eventful race, overheating on the swim, getting a penalty and crashing on the bike, but still finishing with an amazing time. Alex completed her first IM in a respectable time too.

Their times have also been added to the Ironman Roll of Honour.

Latest results - 15-18 September

Hannah ready for the swim at CozumelWell done to Hannah on her 3rd place in the Female 25-29 World Age Group Sprint Championship in Cozumel, Mexico, on 15 September.

On 16 September, Alex's performance at the World Junior Championship was absolutely outstanding, after finishing the bike in 36th place he ran his socks off with the fastest run split of the race, to finish in 5th place. Amazing!

Karen in CarbonerasFor the third year running, while on holiday in Spain, I've taken part in the Carboneras Sprint Triatlon. I'm slipping down the podium with a third place this year, but very pleased to have the 6th fastest female bike split! The sea was warm and calm, although there was a suprisingly strong swell, the bike and run were very hot. I could feel the heat from the pavement through my trainers!

There were PBs all round for the three CPT members at Ironman Wales. Their times have also been added to the Ironman Roll of Honour.

Times have been published for the London Duathlon but positions are still being verified.

Rob had a very busy weekend! On Saturday he was joined by Jon H and Emily for the Streatham Common X-Country. On Sunday he and Dan did two events! Early in the morning, the VTTA Kent Q25/12 25 mile Time Trial, where official results have not been published online yet, with just a photo of the board with handwritten times available! Then later in the day, the Round 2 of the London Cross League in Penshurst.

TRI Challenge Team Triathlon - 10 September

CPT had five teams racing at the TRI Challenge Relay, at Dorney Lake on Saturday. After a glorious sunny week, the weather let us down but luckily turned to drizzle before the start of the race and drizzled on and off throughout, resulting in a number of punctures (including Greg and Kirsten and Mitch had to swap wheels with team member Jeremy so he could get going again). Unfortunately the C team missed out on winning the Mixed Team prize as Greg had to run twice as Suse is injured.

Entries for the last two London League races are now open and expected to sell out quickly so get your entries in ASAP:

2 October - London Fields Aquathlon is a 400m swim and 5km run. There's a good pub/cafe nearby where we normally gor for a bit of brekkie so it's a great sociable race.
