Super Saturday - 7 November

The next Super Saturday session takes place at the South London Scout Centre on Saturday 7 November. This conditioning circuits session will involve both cardio and strength exercises relevant to triathlon and general fitness. A perfect fit for your base phase training.

The session will be held both inside and outside, targeting your main muscle groups, upper and lower body, with 15 minutes of group stretching at the end to close proceedings.

Please bring appropriate clothing, drinks and an exercise mat or towel etc.

Juniors: 09:30 - 10:45
Adults: 10:45 - 12:15

Details of future sessions are summarised on the right and full details are available on the training schedule.

AGM - 7 December

The Club's Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 7 December. Full details, including a delicious menu for the evening, have been circulated on the e-group.

It would be great to have some new members to the committee volunteering to help us through the next 12 months. It isn't a huge commitment, but a vitally important one.

If you would like stand for next year's committee, please let Chris Hall have your details, providing the name of a nominator and seconder.

We also have one London Marathon place up for grabs, so if you were rejected, bring your rejection letter and it will be put into a draw on the night. In addition there will be a draw for two places at our own race next May. To be eligible for that you must be at the AGM and have marshalled at this year's race.

Wednesday run - 4 November

Audrey Audrey, our Wednesday night run coach, describes this week's session will focus on hill sprints.

We will meet at Crystal Palace Station at 19:30 and head into the park towards the top car park and then up to the caravan park to start our hill reps on Fountain Drive/College Road.  See route map.

The main set will be 10 x 10-15sec explosive sprints up a hill (approx 7-10% gradient) with 2-3min recoveries.

For those who like the science behind training sessions - "these are designed to activate and improve the function of the neuromuscular system and increase maximal stroke volume in the heart". In other words your brain and muscles talk to each other quicker and your heart becomes more efficient.

If you treat these hill reps like other drills they make for a much better workout.

Scott with his New York Marathon medalResults - 1 November

It was a quiet weekend!

Congratulations to Scott for running the New York Marathon on Sunday 1 November.

Don't forget to add your races to the race matrix. If your race doesn't appear on the list, please let us know and we'll add it.
