Fantastic work team. CPT are climbing up the league, so there is everything to play for in the last four races; three aquathlons with an end of season leg-busting duathlon.
Weekend results - 27-28 June
Firstly, a massive congratulations to Alex Yee for his unofficial time of 14:09 in the BMC 5000m on Saturday. Once confirmed, this will be a PB for Alex, who already holds the UK 5k record in his age group!
On Sunday, CPT fielded a smaller then expected number of entries (due to injury, mysterious no-shows and hen-do hangovers) for the London League Windrush Aquathlon. Well done to Mat's stag team who not only showed up and raced in budgie smugglers and CPT crop tops, but also got some pretty impressive finish times.
Congratulations to Alex for winning the race, despite being put into a Youth wave, all on his own, and using the race to recover from the previous night's 5k PB! Alex broke the course record by over 2 minutes and got a long and resounding round of applause.
Other CPT podium places went to Greg (1st MV), Selwyn (2nd MV), Hannah (3rd F) and Louise (3rd FV).
Congratulations to Selwyn, Mark and Jack who ran as team Dashing (Dino) Dashers at the Crystal Palace Fun Runners inaugural Dino Dash relay. Hopefully next year, we'll be better organised and get team entries in before the event fills up!
Sounds as though we had a couple of winning teams at the Tooting Bec Midsummer Relays but results aren't available yet. Well done team CPT!
Sunday 14 June Grant helped run and took part in the Waller Pain hill climb again this year and reports it was a fun event as always and proved really popular with a record 100+ registered to take part.
A full report, results and pics can be found on the Cycling Weekly website.
Grant says "It never gets any easier. I thought my lungs were going to come up at the end. But I wasn’t too disappointed with my time considering I’ve only been able to ride sporadically for the last couple of months, and my warm up consisted of running the sign on desk for three hours. So I’ve got a benchmark to aim at next year when I’m fully fit".
John ran the Midsummer Munro getting a PB, knocking over 25 minutes off his previous time!
Results from the second in the series of Tooting Aquathlons on 10 June are now available. Looks as though Graeme was put in the wrong age group so according to the results missed out on 1st MV and Jack only has a swim time recorded. Well done to Trevor, Emma (second podium in a week!), Louise and Jilly and their age group placings. The PBs page has also been updated.
The Clash results - 7 June
Results from The Clash of the Tritons aquathlon on Sunday are now available. The race had a new venue for 2015 as well as a change to distances, so no PBs! There were a few issues with the timing and looking at the results, think there are still to be ironed out!
Weekend results - 7 June
Results so far for this weekend from White Oak both the long and short courses. Congratulations to Emma for coming 3rd female on the long distance.
Mat swam the 10k Jubilee River Swim solo, while 3 Pommes and an Aussie (Mollie, Michelle, Josie and another friend) swam as a relay.
