Club races 2015

Club Championships
The Club Champs are a ‘race within a race’, so as well as competing for overall position, you are also racing your fellow Cmates. 1st, 2nd and 3rd CPT men and women will receive a trophy at the end of the year, with 1st places being immortalised on the Club shield.

Aquathlon: Kingfisher - 19 April
Sprint Distance: Tonbridge – 4 May
Middle Distance: Fambridge Yacht Haven – 12 July
Standard Distance: Bewl – 8 August
Aquabike: Midnight Man Half – 15 August
Duathlon: Jekyll & Hyde – 25 October

Long Distance: Any long distance triathlon following the format of at least a 3.8k swim, 180k bike and 42.2k run (ie Ironman, Challenge etc). Shorter races are only eligible if each leg is within 90% distance of these.

London League:

The London League is our Club competing against the other clubs in London, with individuals competing in their age category (ITU-style). If you finish then you earn the Club mob match points, and if you are top three CPT man or woman then you’ll make the CPT team for that race. We are reigning champions two years running, so we need all of you to get involved and help us defend our title!

6 April: Thames Turbo Sprint Triathlon
19 April: Kingfisher Aquathlon
26 April: Ful-on Duathlon
10 May: Crystal Palace Triathlon. Our turn to host London, so only open to new members, with everyone else needed to marshall. If in doubt, please check before entering. If you haven’t marshalled before, I promise you it’s far more rewarding and enjoyable than you might think!
7 June: The Clash of the Tritons Aquathlon. TBC
28 June: Windrush Aquathlon
6 September: Capital Aquathlon
4 October: London Fields Aquathlon
25 October: Jekyll & Hyde Park Duathlon

Club League:

The Club League is our own thing, and pits you against your peers in the Club throughout the year (male and female; Open (under 40); Vet (40-49) and Super-vet (50+). Age as at 31 December). You need to complete at least three races for your scores to count.

Each Club Championship race counts for the Club League, plus any multisport event where at least five members are on the start line. You will only be eligible if you have uploaded your name to the race matrix before the day of the event, so please do not forget to do this as soon as you have entered (NB Chris Hall is in the process of finalising the new race matrix tool, so rather than emailing the Club, please hold off until you get his announcement.)

Christmas party and awards ceremony - 13 December

CPT Awards 2014

Another great celebration organised by our social coordinator, Selwyn.

Trophies were handed out for the Club Champs, Club League, the Coach's Award, which went to Tommy Crudgington, and the Ridings Trophy which went to Brigit Brown, as well as a big thank you to Rob Parry for coordinating the Team CPT effort this year.

Jon also presented a number of fun awards, in his usual style, including the 'hard as nails' award to Richard Lewey, the nutrition awards went to Glyn Tully and Rob Parry, Tommy also won another prize for going the wrong way at Southwater, Mark Thomas, Mark Brown and Mitch Cooke were also ridiculed!

Bruce Ayers won the Wooden Spoon award, for the second time, this year for puncturing on his comeback race after two years out of action due to injury.

You can view all the photos Brian Morris took on the night on his Flickr site.

Saturday session - 13 December

We had a very successful Saturday morning session with Jon and Brigit. The group was split into two groups, the faster runners going out with Jon first. Unfortunately Isaac managed to get everyone lost in the woods so they returned rather muddier than planned. The second group did a pilates/strengthening session with Brigit, which included the ninja and clappy seal (you had to be there!). The groups then swapped, with Jon leading the second group out for a slightly less muddy run! Brigit then led both groups through some cool down stretches.

Brigit managed to activate some underused muscles as there are quite a few achy limbs today!
