Neil Furze organised the 1st Helen Furze Memorial parkrun at Nonsuch Park. The race was organised as a mob match between Helen's previous running clubs, Striders of Croydon and Wimbledon Windmilers (Striders won) as well as for friends and family wanting to run in memory of Helen who sadly died a year ago. As Helen and Neil were both members of CPT a few of us went along to support. It wasn't a PB course as it was mostly off-road, slippery and muddy after the recent rain, but a great occasion with 497 runners in total.

The parkrun PBs page has been updated.

The road to doing an Ironman ...

Bill at Hever CastleHas been epic, from getting my first bike in April 2013 since being a teenager, a long time ago LOL, to my first sprint triathlon in May (East Grinstead), middle distance (Ashford), Olympic distance (Hever Castle) and in my second year knocking 30 minutes off my middle distance time, completing Ironman UK, going back to Hever Castle and knocking 19 minutes off! Over the moon!

Looking forward to winter training, I hope to (will) get better and look forward to next year!

Bill Stockbridge at Hever Castle.

London League champions 2014!

Report from Rob, our Racing coordinator:

Great work to everybody who participated in the London League this year. Your hard work had paid off, as we are officially the League Champions once again!

Breakdown of the scoring below, but in summary we won the mob match, men's and mixed outright, and came a close second in the women's (great result given various key player injuries). We also had a number of members from the Club who won their age groups overall.

Round 8: Jekyll & Hyde

In the final round, we won the mob match and men's comp, were third in the mixed, and fouth in the women's. Team as follows:

Men: Andrew Tappin, Rob Parry, Keith Brewster
Women: Kati Pusey, Emily Parry, Natasha Raggett
Mixed: Andrew Tappin, Rob Parry, Keith Brewster, Kati Pusey, Emily Parry
Mob Match: All the above + Greg Lewis, Mike Dowds, Jon Horsman, Mark Brown, Bill Stockbridge, Peter Mack, Kevin Freeman, Phil Vickers, Dan Pinn, Martin Leat, John Buchanan, Hans Geberbauer, Andrew Parsons, Martin Rafferty, Matt Lawley, Andy McRobbie, Wim Geberbauer, Sheila Horsman, Andreas Bajohra, Lousie Alan-Smith, Gary Blunt, Marie Chorley, Jilly Dolphin.

Great work to all for putting CPT on top!

On behalf of everyone at CPT, I'd also like to thank Rob for his hard work and dedication in rallying the troops. It was definitely worth all the effort. Well done.

Club League update and final placings

Final update from this year's from our League Coordinator, Cathy Cooke.

Three more races to add to the Club League scoreboard and, I think, according to the current race matrix, this may well be the final result as there are no more multi-discipline races before the Club awards evening/Xmas party (13 December) that appear to qualify (ie 5+ members racing).

Well done to all who raced at St Luke's Hospice Triathlon (well done to Noel for winning his Club league age/gender category and getting top score), Challenge Half Paguera and Jekyll & Hyde (well done to Greg Lewis for winnning his group and another top score). Quite a few shifts in top three club league positions following Jekyll & Hyde...

So without further ado....

Senior Ladies: Suse Fairfax; Lisa Buchanan; Josie Dow
Vet Ladies: Cathy Cooke; Kati Pusey; Sheila Horsman
Super-Vet Ladies: Louise Alan-Smith; Sally Kidson; Jilly Dolphin

Senior Men: Rob Parry; Mike Dowds; Selwyn Smith
Vet Men: Jon Horsman; Graeme Blair; Victor Thompson
Super Vet Men: Greg Lewis; Mark Thomas; Brian Morris

A big thank you to Cathy for coordinating the League again in 2014.
