Matt stayed out too late on Saturday night and turned up late for the start of the Steyning Long Triathlon. He had to do the Sprint race instead! Steyning also saw Charles' return to triathlon! See how they got on.
Heron Lake is now open for open water swimming practice. Visit their website for opening times and prices.
Matt has only just let me know that he ran the Eastbourne Half Marathon in February and the Reading Half Marathon in March. Don't forget to let me know which races you are doing so that I can keep up-to-date with results.
Congratulations to the CPT members who finished the London Marathon in very hot conditions. There was a small group of CPT supporters near Cleopatra's Needle cheering you on. We managed to spot Tony (ex-CPT), Ruki, Berit and Fintan.
There were then celebratory drinks in the Porterhouse and Punch & Judy for those who could manage the steps!
Top marks to Fintan who was painted a lovely shade of red to complement his CPT kit! He certainly stood out in the crowd!
Results are now available.
We are pleased to announce the venue of our first ever Duathlon Championships.....
- The Maidstone Duathlon on 23rd September
- The distances are 8k run, 27k bike, 4k run

Congratulations to Ewan McKay on a very impressive 2:59:37 at the Paris Marathon. I think that's the fastest CPT marathon time, at least since I've been keeping records. Unless anyone wants to correct me?! (Both Dean and Jim have broken 3 hours, in the good old days!)
Well done to Ron Yee and Andy McRobbie for qualifying at the Cambridge Duathlon. Ron will be going to the World Championships in Gyor, Hungary in May. Ron and Andy will both be going to the European Championships in Edinburgh in June.
We discovered last night that the track entrance fee at Crystal Palace was increased on 1 April. This has now gone up to £3.25, so please bring the right money with you for future track sessions.
Optima Racing Team have taken the lead from Ful-on Tri in the race to be the 2007 Triathlon London League Champions. For full race reports and points tally check out the London Region website.
There are four more races in the League series -
Results from the Thames Turbo sprint triathlon on 9th April are now available. Unfortunately Andrea got a puncture early on in the bike and hasn't been given a finish time, which means we didn't have a full team for the London League points.
There was a mistake with Neil's entry and instead of having him down at 6 mins something for the swim they had him down as 60 mins (59:59 to be precise). He started third to last in his swim wave and had to overtake all the breaststrokers and slower crawlers! So if anyone starts quizzing him he's claiming a lost minute there! He's also claiming the bike was 23km, not 21km as advertised, according to his computer!
Having gained a place through the CPT lucky draw for the London Marathon, I am running to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Care. Any donations from my good looking, intelligent, witty and generous fellow club members will be gratefully received. Check out my Just Giving website.
Karen got a PB at the Paddock Wood Half Marathon, knocking 16 minutes off her previous time on the same course. My splits also indicate a PB for 10k and 10 miles!
