This is a fantastic facility where everybody, all abilities, can get some excellent experience without any interference from cars, pedestrians or wild animals! Session Fee: £5 per head. Adults very welcome to come and use the track - £3 per head.
Good Friday at the VelodromeYou may have heard that an alternative Good Friday event will be held this year at Herne Hill. It will be more family friendly than the official event that has moved up to Manchester. There'll be opportunities for novices to try track cycling every hour on the hour and Rolapaluza will be there for static roller racing. There will also be some display racing which should be good fun (Mark, Isaac's dad has been training for this).
More info on the Velodrome website.

CPT juniors pitch up in Richmond Park - 26 March
The rain just about held off on Saturday for us to have a successful kit sale in Richmond Park. After a cycle training session the juniors and adults visited the CPT shop (aka Sara’s folding table) for a browse and a buy of the latest offerings.
Out with the old…
Thanks to everyone who donated to the sale. Lots of the second-hand items were bought including trainers, sunglasses, swimming cozzies and a cool Adidas jacket. Please keep your 2nd hand stuff coming – the club really benefits. Liaise with Karen Lord if you have anything to donate.
…in with the new
Everyone enjoyed having a rummage through the new CPT club kit. We sold jackets, jerseys and more. It will be really great to see the juniors racing in their new kit this year! For more information visit the kit page.
Thanks to Brigit for the photographs.

Trinity Triathlon - 10 July - Entry now openWe hope everybody will have a go at this triathlon. It is near, you know the pool and we will be able to brief everybody on the course and approach to the race well in advance.
All you need to do at this stage is ENTER - places will fill very fast so don't hesitate.
It is also a London Junior Series event so if you enter this and the CPT triathlon you only need two more to be a potential regional qualifier!
New memberWelcome to new member Louis Charlesworth.
Brockwell Park parkrunCongratulations to Isaac Brown for getting a PB at Saturday's Brockwell Park parkrun. Isaac came 11th overall and 2nd Junior male in 19:30. Well done Isaac.
As more juniors are now doing the parkruns, I've created a PBs page. Results will continue to be reported on the News page but all PBs will go on the new parkrun PBs page.
Herne Hill Velodrome public meetingThe second public meeting in the Save the Herne Hill Velodrome campaign will be held on Tuesday 22 March in the Great Hall of Dulwich College, from 19:30.
Your support is needed to save one of the oldest cycling tracks in Britain and the last remaining finals venue from the 1948 Olympic Games. This is a great facility for cyclists and the local community, including our own Club. Don't lose it.
Photographs from Hillingdon and Club Champs updateThanks very much to Mark Allan for the action photographs from Hillingdon on Sunday 6 March.
Well done to Matthew's little brother, Luke who cycled round and round on his little bike and appears on the last photo in this gallery.

Where are the Wiggos?
The second CPT junior club champs event, a bike team time trial was held at Hillingdon on Sunday at the end of the training session. Once divided into their teams it quickly became apparent that perhaps the Wiggos had stayed in bed!
There were eight Cavs taking part (scoring 80 points) and only four Wiggos (scoring 40 points) so the scores on the doors after two events are.....
Check your diaries and get yourself along to the next event in the CPT junior club champs, the Hillingdon Duathlon on Sunday 1st May, entries are now open. There is another CPT training session at Hillingdon ahead of this on Sunday 10 April, which will give you valuable race prep. Read more about last Sunday's session below.
Votwo Dorney Lake Super Sprint Duathlon
Congratulations to James Allan who won the Votwo Dorney Lake Super Sprint Duathlon. James completed the first 2.5k run in 09:08, the 12k bike in 24:48 and the second 2.5k run in 10:13, for a total time of 45:01.
Hillingdon Time Trial - 6 MarchAnother great morning was had by lots of juniors and adults at the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit. The session was split into three segments with a well deserved drink and cake stop between each. With lots of coaches to hand, Jon Horsman, Ron Yee, Dean Thurlow, Scott Wise, Bill Wright (Herne Hill Youth) and Phil Taylor, this enabled everyone to receive some coaching tips.
The first two segments concentrated on a different skill in each. The juniors worked on their pedalling, bike positions, cornering, etc whilst Scott put the adults through their paces with some group riding taking place in the third segment whilst the juniors completed a two lap (3km) Time Trial, see results table on the Time Trial page.
If this wasn’t enough those tired little legs completed another team Time Trial completing half a lap each at the front before releasing their sprinters, Joe and Adam for the line. This Time Trial was part of an ongoing competition between the two Club Championship teams, the Cavs and the Wiggos. You can keep up to date with how this competition progresses through the year.
A special mention must go to Adam Efrat for encouraging the younger members through the Time Trial which I’m sure they appreciated.
Thanks also to Bill Wright for his input on the coaching and organising the Time Trial.

Athlete of the Month - FebruarySam was awarded February's Athlete of the Month after swimming at Trinity on Friday 4 March.
Jon, who presented Sam with the Athlete of the Month trophy and Colombia cycling shirt, said "the coaches were impressed with his much improved performance and his positive attitude over the past two months"..
Congratulations to Sam.
1st Club Champs Event - Richmond Park - 26 FebruaryIt was a very wet and windy day for the first event in the junior Club Championships on Saturday. After getting a soaking on their bikes around Richmond Park the Chilly Cavs and Wet Wiggos were extremely enthusiastic to get on with the team run relay, no really they were! It was a brilliant turn out considering many were away for half term and the dreadful weather. Nine Cavs and four Wiggos completed the event, Ben A and Alice were also there but couldn't run due to injury and illness. With a slight imbalance of team members, Jon borrowed a few Cavs to run as Wiggos for the day. It was a closely contested race with everyone giving it their best shot.
Points so far are.....
The weather just added to the madness. A great team and club spirit, well done to everyone who braved the morning.
Crystal Palace parkrunCongratulations to Joe Kidson who ran his first parkrun at Crystal Palace on Saturday 5 March, finishing in 2nd place in 19:07. Joe then completed the circuit session on the indoor track! Well done, Joe!
