What our juniors say about Club training

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all the coaches who have coached me and all the juniors this year.   When I wake up in the morning and I realise it’s a training day I say "GREAT it's training today!"

I enjoy all the different kinds of sessions there are, always something new to look forward to too. If we have worked really hard in a session I like the fun 10 minutes of games at the end as a reward.

CPT juniors in action

We are currently operating a waiting list for juniors wanting to join Crystal Palace Triathletes.

Once the online waiting list entry form has been completed, we will contact you when a place becomes available. At that time, your child will be invited to come along for a swimming try out to make sure our minimum requirement (200m continuous swimming) can be met. If your child is unable to swim this distance we recommend they attend swimming lessons before joining CPT.

Please do not turn up for a session without completing the waiting list form as we are currently unable to accept any prospective new members for ad hoc trial sessions.

Parents/guardians are required to stay at all sessions.

View the training schedule for full details of the sessions below.

Other training opportunities
There are many other weekend and holiday training opportunities out there for you to take part in.  Here’s some listed below to try out:

The Skills School is an exciting new initiative from Triathlon England that supports the development of young athletes and club coaches. Sessions are approximately once per month.

Keep up to date with the Skills School news and reports on Facebook: @SkillsschoolLondon.

Herne Hill Velodrome holds a School Holiday Club offering track and mountain bike cycling for 8-16 year olds.  You can book in advance per day with bike hire included for a very reasonable fee.

A little bit further afield but worth a visit by the whole family is the Cyclopark at Gravesend.  They offer various options for road, mountain and BMX riding.

For another safe ‘off or ‘on’ road cycling opportunity try Richmond Park.  It’s the largest of the capital's eight Royal Parks and home to herds of red and fallow deer.  There’s some great plantations and cafés too!

Take part in parkrun the free weekly timed runs all around the world!  There is the 2k junior parkrun for 4 -14 year olds on Sunday mornings or the 5k parkrun on Saturday mornings to choose from.  Don’t forget to register to get a barcode to scan whenever you run to track your times on the parkrun website but also on the CPT website parkrun roll of honour.

Sessions coached by Jon Horsman, Audrey Livingston, Brian Morris and Scott Wise, assisted by Dean Thurlow and Ron Yee. See the coaches page for more information.
